Is there a free trial?
No. Dictate costs $8 a month from the start. Cancel any time; access continues until the end of the paid period.
How do I get the app after subscribing?
The download link arrives by email after checkout. Install Dictate, choose “Activate this Mac”, and enter the address used to pay.
Can I use Dictate on more than one Mac?
Yes. Activate each Mac with the same email address. Your monthly transcription allowance is shared across them.
Where are settings, glossary, and history stored?
Settings, glossary entries, transcript text, and metadata sync through your account. Audio is transcribed, then discarded. Recordings are not stored.
Can I get a refund?
If you have not transcribed anything, email support@dictates.app for a full refund. Once you use the service, the month is committed. See /refunds for details.
Is local-only mode possible?
No. Transcription and account data use the Dictate API. Dictate does not offer on-device transcription.
